Analysis of question 12 answers
12. Where do most of your friends come from?
a. I went to school with most of them
If you move abroad and you’ll have to make a whole new circle of friends or you’ll be very lonely. Are you sure you can do it?
b. Now I think about it, most of them are from work
You’ll be leaving your colleagues behind. And you may find working relationships abroad are very different.
c. I’ve got friends from all over the place – work, the pub, the gym, I can’t remember
That’s the ideal attitude. You should make friends if you move abroad as well, even though there aren’t always the same social hubs available as there are in the UK.
d. I don’t really go in for lots of friends, my partner gives me everything I need in the way of companionship
Great, if it’s true. Moving abroad can put a great deal of strain on a relationship and having nobody else to talk to can add to the pressure.
